Sewer Line Locating in Dallas-Fort Worth

Most sewer lines are plastic or older clay and cast iron, and none of them can be found with a standard locator. We run a sonde-equipped camera through your cleanout and follow it from the surface, so you know exactly where your sewer line runs and how deep it is before anyone digs.

How we find your sewer line

We put the camera into the line through an accessible cleanout. A small transmitter on the camera head, called a sonde, sends a 512Hz signal that we follow from the surface with a professional locator. As the camera moves down the line, we mark its path and take depth readings along the way.

What you get

  • The sewer line path marked on the ground
  • Depth readings along the line
  • A digital map of the line path
  • Recorded camera footage of the run

When people book it

  • Before a pool, fence, patio, or room addition
  • Before foundation repair piers go in
  • Before planting trees or regrading a yard
  • When a plumber or contractor needs the route without bringing their own camera

What we do not do

We locate and record. We do not evaluate the condition of the pipe, and we do not clear, repair, or replace lines. That means we never have a repair job to sell you. The footage is yours to share with whoever you choose.

What we need from you

An accessible sewer cleanout. If you are not sure where yours is, tell us in your booking notes. If we arrive and cannot access the property or a usable cleanout, a $75 trip fee applies.

Questions

What if I do not have a cleanout?

We need an accessible cleanout to get the camera into the line. If you cannot find one, call us before booking and we will help you figure out where to look. If we arrive and there is no usable cleanout, a $75 trip fee applies.

Can you trace a sewer line under a driveway or patio?

In most cases, yes. The sonde signal passes through concrete, so we can usually follow the line and take depth readings under driveways, patios, and walkways.

Will you tell me if my sewer line has problems?

No. We record the camera footage and locate the line, but we do not evaluate the condition of the pipe or give opinions about it. You get the footage to share with a licensed plumber or anyone else you choose.
